Before and After–1940’s Shoot

Here are some before (SOOC) and after (edit) shots from the shoot on Wednesday. As you can see, I didn’t do much at all to them except a little boost of color and brightening up. Going soft on edits is what gives photos that natural, but striking look that everybody loves. Going ‘edit crazy’ sometimes causes your photos to come out too fake looking – and I’ve learned that from many past editing mistakes. =)

The above picture isn’t my favorite edit, but I wanted to use it as an example. See how it kind of has a red-yellowy tint to my skin? Having a lot of red hues in a photo (clothing, backdrop, etc.) usually end up showing somewhere on the subject. For people, it’s usually the face. For me, editing with red faces has always been tough – I’m still learning how to get rid of it without using the ‘eliminate red face’ action in Photoshop*.

just added a dash of light on this one and it came out great.
