minus the house wife part.
I’ve always wanted to do a 1940’s type of photo shoot, but just never got around to do it. Until today. This sudden urge to accomplish my long awaited dream (not really…but read on) came upon me while I was contemplating reading more of Great Expectations for school. So I asked myself, photography lesson (insert smile) or school? This decision (in my mind) wasn’t worth debating over and it took less than 1/4 of a second to choose my option. I went and pulled out the red lipstick, multi-colored striped apron, white blanket, and of course, my camera. My mom helped take these shots and I think they came out fantastic. A little boost of color in Lightroom* and voilĂ ! the perfect 1940’s look.
{btw, just in case you are wondering, right after taking these shots I picked up that book and read 5 chapters. That there is commitment to the extreme!}
Here are a few of my favorites from today.
more to come…so stay tuned!
please drop yourself on another place…
We have been getting snow storm after snow storm where I live and I’m starting to wish for those lush, green hills all covered with Gerber daisies and chocolate bunnies. Sorry, little hungry here.
Only 46 days until spring!!! I know I sound all dramatic when I say that I absolutely hate winter, minus the Christmas and very first snow part, but its true. I can’t stand the cold and ice and 20” of snow and outings being canceled and poufy coats and did I mention the freezing cold?? My siblings don’t seem to mind the temperature one bit and can be found playing out in the snow for hours on end when I can be found inside boycotting it. Here are pictures I took of Jordan and Joshua on Saturday when they were building a snow fort. Gasp! I ventured outside for more than 5 minutes….shocking I know.
I’m so jealous of his natural tan. The dude looks like this all winter!

Linking up with my mom for this week’s Red SOOC shot.
This weekend I had a mini Valentine’s Day photo shoot with Jordan. This girl can give some looks…especially when she is tired of playing model. I found some bright red props lying around and decided to have some fun with this week’s theme.
She told me that she “just wanted to take a peek”.
