Flash, Reflectors, and Funny Faces

I got the 50mm f.1.8 lens for Christmas and am loving it! I’m taking some online tutorials on photography (also being taught by my mom) and tried out some of what I learned. Since I didn’t have any handy dandy reflectors lying around the house, I simply used a piece of white poster board.

Jordan without the reflector = pretty picture, but harsh shadow on one side of her face

Jordan with reflector = pretty picture with even skin tones on both sides of her face

Noah with aperture at 1.8

Naomi with aperture 1.8 and flash diffuser

Don’t you just love the faces she gives me?

Now, these next two crack me up. When you tell Noah to smile, he starts moving his mouth into crazy positions until he thinks he is “smiling”. Those buck teeth get me every time…

Hope you all had a a very Merry Christmas!
