Kids | Personality and Butterflies

I love being able to watch my siblings experience things for the first time, whether it be their first few peddles on a bike, their first time swimming without a floatie, or (in this case) their first time getting to hold a butterfly on their nose.

Last week my youngest sis got herself dressed in an adorable outfit and asked me to take some pictures of her outside. This girl has the BIGGEST personality of anyone I have ever met and she knows how to work the camera. She's only 4 years old, but I swear she thinks she is 16 or something. All of these poses you're about to see were "unscripted" - she did them all on her own.

I know that the picture below is somewhat blurry, but I just had to show you her face right after the butterfly was put on her nose. She wasn't too sure what to think about it.

My entire family all agrees that if there was ever to be a real-life person "Monster's Inc." movie...she'd definitely be Boo.

There is this little girl in my house who likes to talk. a lot. And when she talks, words fly out of her mouth at around 100 mph, most of which include phrases or questions involving a.) food or b.) her obsession to boss others around. She is the youngest of our large bunch, but everyone in our house agree's that she has the biggest personality. When she talks, she makes sure that everyone is listening. Preferably speaking, she talks loudly.

But, this little talker-up-storm-child is the cutest girl in the whole wide world. She says the darnest things and gives looks that could kill, but she is a sweetheart. And we all love her to death. She's like a little monkey: extremely energetic, likes to be noisy, and causes people to swoon over her cuteness. Because, hey, everyone loves monkeys.

My little brother has about stolen my heart. Utterly and completely. As the biggest sister who is leaving for college in 7 months, I can say that I'm going to miss my siblings hugs, kisses, random love notes, and sweet sayings. My little brother, who is 6 years old, is just the cutest thing in the world. He says the darnest things and is always bringing a smile to my face...at least, when he's not having a bad day anyway. I like him. I like him a whole lot.

It was the younger boy's birthday and his sister was taking out that camera again. But he didn't mind. Not one bit. He loved making wacky faces and cracking wide grins at the lens - but getting to see the picture afterwards was his favorite part. The older brother loved getting his picture taken too - so, as all brothers go, they wanted to share the fun together. These two share such a special bond. I love these two crazy kids. So very much.

Happy 4th Birthday!

Yesterday was this little girl's birthday! N is such a spunky, sweet, and sassy 4 year old and I don't know what I would do without her! She makes life more interesting and a whole lot more fun. Love you bunny! :)

Cute Is…{Part 3}

the way you laugh.

The little man followed us outside with his hands deep inside his jean pockets. The brown shoes he wore clopped noisily on the stepping stones and he gave a soft smile. He stood and watched from a distance as his sister hammed it up in front of the camera – fully well knowing that he was next in line. He knew the drill: pose, smile, wait, and repeat.

He heard me call his name and silently tromped over – sitting stiffly next to his excited sister. But from behind the camera, he saw something that couldn’t help but make him crack a grin. His mom – waving her arms wildly from behind my back, pretending to come tickle me.
