Me // New Years Eve

New Years Eve has never been a big thing at my house. The only time I remember us doing anything for the turning of the year was when I was in 2nd grade and we bought streamers and obnoxious noise makers to blow. Since then, we've slept through the countdown every year, minus maybe two. In all honesty, whats so special about a ball dropping from the sky? I guess its something you just have to be there for.

Anyways, New Years Eve or not, I thought I share some pictures I took of a snack maybe some of you will be enjoying tonight. Yup, a snack - that's how I roll.

I don't know about you, but these pictures make me want pop-corn sooooooo bad.

children // december boys

It was the younger boy's birthday and his sister was taking out that camera again. But he didn't mind. Not one bit. He loved making wacky faces and cracking wide grins at the lens - but getting to see the picture afterwards was his favorite part. The older brother loved getting his picture taken too - so, as all brothers go, they wanted to share the fun together. These two share such a special bond. I love these two crazy kids. So very much.

children // imagination

There's a little kid inside each and every one of us. Some people reveal the little kid inside them throughout their daily lives, while others have closed off that part of themselves, wrongly assuming that their childhood dreams died with growing age. But I say let your childhood live on. Don't let it wait for you to catch up - run with your dreams and never stop using your imagination. That's where great ideas come from anyway.

children // birthday boy!

It sure is frightening to see my little brothers growing up so quickly. Not that I'm complaining or anything, it's just strange to see them all turning into little men so suddenly. The day after Christmas was my brother's 5th birthday and I got to capture some precious moments of him and another brother as they played with their "boy animal" toys. More to come later this week! Trust me, you won't want to miss these upcoming posts!

Me // my style

I love Christmas. I mean, who doesn't?
The family time, the lights, the food {you know that's one of my favorite parts}, the old holiday music that fills me with nostalgia, the games, the laughter....and oh yeah, the excuse to wear really really cute clothes.

Hey, I'm a girl...what can I say?
Enjoy this first part of two "my style" posts.

Ho Ho Ho

Nothing like taking pictures of random kiddie goodness when you're sick and have lots of time on your hands. :)

Hot Chocolate and Tissues

Nothing tastes better than a cup of hot chocolate on a cold, winter day when you're sick and feeling absolutely awful. You know you're sick when you can't even smell the vapor rub thats supposed to break through the congested beast called your nose. which feels 100x larger than it is.
Seriously, my tissue box has been my best friend by day - and my enemy at night. Whoever invented tissues needs to be thanked. profusely.

Hoping you all are having a wonderful week getting ready for Christmas! Anyone have their own favorite holiday drink? Do share! :)

Green Tea

I couldn't think of an unique title for this post, so I'll just go ahead and dub it "Green Tea", since this post is all about the stuff.

Green tea is by far one of my favorite drinks on this planet. Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter - you can guzzle this stuff down and it fits right into every single season. That's my kind of drink.
My uncle travels to China a few times a year and brings us back real Chinese green tea. In real Chinese tea boxes. for real.

Yes, I'm spoiled when it comes to teas.

These Chinese tea pots are ancient artifacts that date back to the time of Mulan.
Just kidding - but they sure look cool.

I don't really understand the picture on this tea pot. It looks like one of the Chinese dudes is beating the other guy up. Or getting ready to tackle him. Or hug him.
His hair makes me laugh. and his forehead.
