Good to WOW–Family

GoodtoWow2

These shots were taken at our annual family Passover dinner. My battery started to die as the night went on (a total duh factor on my part)…but I was able to capture some fun photos.

I’ve already posted these shots on the blog – but they fit this week’s challenge! All are SOOC!

Yesterday

was amazing. It’s been practically freezing all week – but then to everyone’s surprise, the weather rose to a crazy 80 degrees here! I was in heaven. All of the flowers (on the trees) have bloomed and the grass is a solid shade of neon green. Creepy crawlies are out again…but right now…who cares?? It’s warm outside!!!

All shots are SOOC and taken with my 50mm lens. I used one white poster board as a reflector.

J isn’t our sun guy. at all. It was super bright out yesterday (I’ll give him that much), but I had his face completely turned away from it. Oh well…I just had to wait till a cloud covered the sun for a bit to take his picture.

Good to WOW–Passover

GoodtoWow2

Every year for Passover we go to my grandparents house for the sedar dinner. We read the story about Moses and the ten plagues – with the help of little plague puppets my grandparents have. Here are the first and last plagues. =)

The air smells

like perfume. Not the icky kind that makes you gag and run to the water fountain because your throat is closing up. Fresh, clean, all natural perfume. *sigh* The sky was a magnificent blue today and the blossoms that have opened up everywhere this weekend make my neighborhood look truly magical. It would be a lot more special if the temperature rose above 50 degrees…but I’ll take what I’ve got.

I took my 28-200 lens outside today in the freezing wind to try and get some good shots of the flowers. These are not as sharp as I would have liked, but the branches were whipping around like crazy while I was shooting…so I’m just happy they came out as good as they did. Just experimenting and learning as I go. =)
